Risky 3 (Quarter Backs)

Risky 3

Carson Palmer- Palmer is still a very good Quarter Back when healthy. The key word in that sentence is “healthy” because it almost always seems like he never is healthy. He only played 4 games last year and then a serious elbow injury sidelined him for the rest of the season. There were rumors that he might need Tommy John surgery but eventually doctors decided that rest would be enough. He also lost his favorite possession receiver in T.J. Houshmanzadeh. I think Palmer can still have a good year and you can definitely take a chance on him but only in rounds 8-10.

Chad Pennington- Last year Chad took the Dolphins on a great ride and took the leagues worst team to win the AFC East. He was very careful with his decision making and it showed by only throwing 7 interceptions. But I think he’s a risky pick because age is crawling up his back and he just doesn’t have the arm he once had. Last year he threw 19 touchdowns and 3,653 yards. This year will be different. He’s not going to top 15 touchdowns or 3,000 yards. I predict he will throw for 2,792 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Kyle Orton- Kyle was part of a trade before the draft that sent QB Jay Cutler to Chicago and Kyle, a 2009 first round pick, and a 2010 first round pick to Denver. Last year Denver had one of the most potent offenses in the NFL last year. This year looks different. Star Wide-Out Brandon Marshall wants out of Denver and it looks as if owner Pat Bollen is going to let him get his wish. Marshall was a superstar wide receiver and caught just about everything thrown his way. But if he leaves then Eddie Royal will have to take his place and although he is a rising star, he’s not experienced enough to be a top receiver on the Broncos depth chart. To make matters worse, just about every running back that stepped foot on the field for the Broncos last year got hurt. There were 6 of them. He does have one thing going for him though, new head coach Josh McDaneils is a pass heavy coach and that could bolster Orton’s productivity. None of these reasons really have to do with Kyle himself, but the team around him is just collapsing.
