3 Sleepers
Matt Ryan- Last year Ryan was a rookie. Just about nobody even picked him, much less start him. But for the few that did, he delivered. He tossed 16 touchdowns and 3,440 yards while only throwing 11 interceptions. What amazes me is that a rookie with only average Wide-Outs can only throw 11 interceptions. This year Ryan should be even more dangerous because he has a year under his belt and he has a great new tight end in Tony Gonzalez. Also, Number 1 wide receiver Roddy White has a ton of speed and will be very key for Ryan’s success. I predict that he will toss 26 touchdowns and 3,634 yards.
Matt Cassel- Last year Cassel stepped in after Brady went down, nobody knew how he was going to do. But he proved all doubters wrong by throwing for 21 touchdowns and 3,693 yards. A big reason is that the Patriots offensive attack is so powerful. They also have 2 of the best receivers in the league, Randy Moss and Wes Welker. This year is different because he doesn’t have these great receivers. The Chiefs also lost their best target, Tony Gonzalez. He could’ve helped Cassel a lot. But I think that Matt will throw for 20 touchdowns and 3,156 yards.
Trent Edwards- Last year Trent Edwards was nothing special. Certainly not worthy of a fantasy starting job. This year is different. I have 1 name for you, Terrell Owens. He will either make Edwards a huge star or a huge bust. I’m taking the route of huge star. He has T.O. on one side and Lee Evans on the other. He also has 2 great running backs, Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson. They will keep apposing defenses from knowing the play will be a pass. Last year Edwards tossed 11 touchdowns and 2,699 yards. This year he will dramatically improve those numbers. I think he’ll throw 20 touchdowns and 3,426 yards.
