High Risk - High Reward
LenDale White- LenDale White is a great running back but he has some problems. First of all he needs to work on his attitude. He never tries hard at practice and he doesn’t have a good work ethic. But he is in the final year of his contract and the Titans probably won’t want him back so he might try to impress a few people so he can get a good deal in Free Agency. White won’t give you that 1,000 yard performance you want, that’s what Chris Johnson is for, but he will get you lots of touchdowns. In fact, last year he had 773 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is risky because he might just quit on the Titans but I think he is well worth it because of those touchdowns. He is a great value in the 5th or 6th round.
Derrick Ward- Last year Ward was a second string runner behind Brandon Jacobs. Even though Ward was a second string, he still rushed for 1,025 yards. His yards per carry was phenomenal, it was 5.6. He didn’t score that many touchdowns because Brandon Jacobs is such a bruising runner at the goal-line. Because of Jacobs, Ward only ran for 2 touchdowns. This year Ward is playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He should get more touches then he did in New York but Earnest Graham will steal some of them, especially on the goal-line. But I think Ward should get 1,216 yards and 5 touchdowns. Ward is ranked 46th on my Top 200 and should be taken in the 5th round.
LeSean McCoy- LeSean was supposed to be a first round pick in this years draft but due to a very poor workout, he fell to the Eagles late in the 2nd. He is going to be a stud when he gets a chance to play, but I don’t know when he will get playing time. He is not good at pass protection which could cut down on his playing time. He also isn’t very durable which could also hinder his playing time. One more reason is that’s he’s playing behind Brian Westbrook who’s one of the best running backs in the game. But McCoy is big and fast which could help in lots of different areas. He’s able to run it in from the goal-line but he is also capable of getting a game breaking run and scoring from 60 yards out. He is ranked 108 on my Top 200 and is an 11th or 12th round value.
